Two Cranleighans have just signed with Harlequins. Will Trenholm and Oscar Beard have been involved with the Harlequins age-group set-up since the age of 13 and, following the completion of their academic studies this year, will become full-time members of the Harlequins Academy.

Number eight Trenholm and centre Beard, who also played at Farnham Rugby Club together, were both members of the school’s Daily Mail Cup-winning side, have played for England at School Boys and U18s level, and represented Harlequins in the Premiership Rugby Shield this season.

Academy Coach and former Harlequins player Jim Evans said: “They have come through the junior pathway at Harlequins and we are very excited by the potential they have shown.

“Will is a rangy, dynamic back row and Oscar is a quick and talented centre. Both Oscar and Will have been key members of a strong Cranleigh school team over the years.

“They have all deserved this opportunity to further develop and become great Harlequins players for years to come.

“A thank you must go out to their parents, schools and clubs for the support they have shown towards the boys’ rugby.”
