Is Cranleigh School Right For My Child?

A place where every child can be themselves

At Cranleigh, we know and value every pupil for who they are. Our culture gives children the confidence to try new things, find their strengths, and grow into thoughtful, and resilient young people ready for the world.

Learning & Growth

Ambition for every child

We encourage pupils to aim high, ask questions and take real pride in their work. Supported by outstanding teachers who know them as individuals, children stay curious and build the confidence to chase their goals at School and in life beyond.

Senior Academic Lesson Summer 2026

Bringing out the best

Strong academic results start with knowing each child, who they are and what drives them. When pupils feel supported and understood, they are ready to push themselves, take on challenges and achieve results they can be truly proud of. See below our academic results for 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions

Helping You Find Answers

Choosing a school is a big decision for any family. Here are clear answers to the questions parents ask us most often about life at Cranleigh.

What age do pupils join Cranleigh School?

Pupils can join Cranleigh from age 3 to 18. Our main entry points are Pre-School (age 3), Reception (age 4), Year 7 (age 11), Year 9 (age 13) and Sixth Form (age 16). We also welcome pupils into other year groups whenever space is available.

Is Cranleigh School co-educational?

Yes. Cranleigh is a co-educational independent school for pupils aged 3 to 18, bringing our Prep and Senior Schools together across two neighbouring sites. Boys and girls learn, work and grow up alongside one another in a warm, grounded environment.

Is Cranleigh a boarding or day school?

At Cranleigh Senior, we offer flexible choices to suit family life, including Day, Day Plus (our flexible boarding option), Weekly Boarding and Full Boarding. Whichever path you choose, every pupil enjoys the same strong sense of belonging and excellent personal care.

At Cranlegh Prep, pupils can board from Year 3 onwards, most typically they start from Year 5. They can board on an ad hoc, flexi, or full basis.

What are Cranleigh’s fees?

Fees depend on your child’s age and whether they attend as a day pupil or boarder. It will also depend on whether they take part in specialist teaching, clubs and activities outside the wide range of activities already available to them. You can find full details on our fees page.
